Mobil One Oil Observation

I have recently had an interesting observation concerning Mobil 1. It does not concern my 98 SET but it does a recent pickup truck purchase. I bought a very clean 1997 Chevy C2500 with a 5.7 liter Vortec engine for a 3rd vehicle, work truck. The truck was immaculate but it had 156,500 miles on it. It belonged to a company and driven by the owner. I immediately changed the oil with Shell Formula (dyno) 5-30w. I then had my first communication with the one owner prior owner and I ask him what oil he used. He said he only put Mobil 1 10-30 every 6,000 miles (a lot of road miles) since the break in oil came out. After only 300 miles I noticed the oil turn dark (dyno Shell) and changed it at 700 miles and it came out black as diesel engine oil. I put Mobil 10-30 back in it and I have driven it for 1,000 miles and the dip stick looks clean. Could this mean that Mobil does not clean out an engine very well and the dyno oil additives were working to clean out the engine. The evidence will make you think.
