The coil face was my concern as dirt can create a path for tracking to ground. Windex (the real stuff) is good at removing grime. Then wipe with a damp cloth. ArmorAll classic when dry creates an excellent insuating film and it penetrates to seal dry porous surfaces. I have used this on boots, cables, caps etc. As long as cables do not become hard and cracked, I feel that all of these items can last for the life of the vehicle. Cleaning takes time and you certainly would not want to pay shop hours for this work. But for DIY its is great, and solving a problem in this fashion on a weekend when dirt and salt contaminated ignition parts have your vehicle out of order, it is a great way to get back on the road. So it can become part of preventative maintenance.

For the loose parts I wash them in a sink of hot water and dish detergent, rinse, shake dry, bake at 200-210F, lte cool, apply ArmorAll when still warm, bake again then cool and wipe off reside. You don't want any free ArmorAll on the surface as this will drap dirt. Other than that, I don't use ArmorAll for any trim or tires. For the oil face, you will skip the oven and do things in place. But I have never worked on the 2.3L NA coil myself.
