The Saab "Trionic" Engine Control Unit (ECU) computer system will change the amount of avialable power based on numerous sensor inputs. Items affecting those inputs include engine temperature, spark plug condition, turbocharger boost pressure, fuel delivery rate, and gasoline octane.
So because you have a turbochargered engine goverened by the Saab "Trionic" system, you WILL have more available power with higher octane fuel. Whether you feel or notice the increase in available power depends on how you drive.
See the following link to a Car and Driver article that showed the Saab 9-5 lost approx. 10% power when octane was lower from 91 octane 'Premium' gasoline to 87 octane 'Regular' gasoline (USA octane ratings).
