piece of cake for even the non mechanically inclined. all you need is a pair of dykes [no, not that kind...wire cutting kind] and a rubber mallet or deadblow hammer. tear off the old leather bits and pieces to expose the white plastic lump that serves as the base of the knob. w/o cutting the inner reverse lockout fingers [it is obvious when you begin to get it apart] nibble away at the white plastic w/ the dykes until you can break it all off. to put the new one on, line up the pattern on the top of the knob, slide it over the reverse lockout fingers, and push down hard. here is the trick, cover the new know w/ a towel and give it a sharp smack w/ a rubber mallet. if it is down far enough, the lock out will work, if not, then it won't; smack it again! forget about the epoxy. my old knob was practically welded on to the shaft and there was no trace of epoxy on it...it is a very snug fit. HTH
