Thanks to this board, and especially Anders, Derek, and Geoff who responded to my recent pleas for advice, I think my (daughter's)95 900SE V6 is cured! I swapped out the ignition switch as suggested. The car was dead at this point: no spark.

The job went fairly well for my first time in this area of the car. Had my Haynes manual which was helpful. Even more help was my buddy who rebuilds wrecked Saabs had a shifter assembly with ign switch that he loaned me. Having this to reference was a huge help!

I would have had the job done in 1.5 hrs, however bonehead me didn't seat the new switch properly and it didn't work when I got it back together. Had to take it all apart and re-do it. Oh well, live and learn! Anyway the car seems normal again, and I've got my fingers crossed! And what's with that miserable black sticky tape Saab uses??? That was the worst part of the job!
