If you have constant warm air from the vents, A/C performance could be compromised by the hot/cold air mix. If not, it may be something else. There is no heater valve in the old fashioned sense. Hot water is 100% flowing through the heater core all the time, but it is enclosed by a housing that opens when the ACC orders heat. To get at the control linkage (on a LHD model), you have to pull out the glove box and then remove the side panel of the console. The motor that opens and closes the flap(s) that let heat in from the heater core is the small round thing (maybe 1.5-2" in diameter) just above the silver stereo amp. It is attached to a small reduction gearbox that has a lever arm coming off it on the forward side that moves the linkage that opens and closes the flaps. To actually move the arm, you need to remove the small motor (2 torx screws) from the little gearbox underneath. But with the side panel off, you can see if the arm is moving by changing the ACC from a high to a low setting a few times. Also, see my earlier posting - I had hot air from the vents all the time, though.
