I thought the owner's manual clearly states that the jack is for emergencies only, not for maintenance. Still, I agree that it shouldn't fail! But I NEVER use the included jack; it's very flimsy looking.
I just bought a Craftsman 3-ton floor jack over the weekend ($50). Pretty beefy. Free 3-ton jack stands ($20 value) w/purchase of the jack this week.
