They do seem pretty high... though I get about 26mpg (US) in town. I wouldn't call my driving heavy footed most of the time, though. I get about the same on the highway, going about 80mph. Slowing down to 74mph boosts my mpg to 31. At 68mph, I get about 35mpg. I imagine going 60 would probably gain me another 5mpg or more.
