Get a used one.2.3 l I guess.
What you have is what most 2.3 have. For some reason that engie generates a sludge problem.
I does'nt seem to be all oil change program related.
In the manual for the car it states that 5000 miles intervial oil change except for light driving habits where short driving is the norm. In this case 2500 miles is the change milage.
When your car was inspected the valve cover should have been removed and the problem would have been seen and you would'nt be stuck right now. The whoever checked it has no idea of these cars and there case history. He's at falt as wel.
Saab is a fault for a bad design that creates sludge.
My car had the same problm and I replaced the 2.3 with a used one.( spotless inside).
