Here's how I did mine without a template. Slide out the three plates on the underside of the spoler. Take some cardboard from a box and make duplicates of the plates. After taking measurements, make a hole on each piece of cardboard corresponding to where the bolt would be as if it were the actual mounting plate. Make a hole in each piece of cardboard the same size as the bolt. Now slide the cardboard plates into the recesses on the underside of the spoiler. Take some small washers with the same inside diameter as the hole and scotch tape them to the cardboard plates, being careful not to tape them too securely, just enough to cover the edges. Then take some double sided Scotch-type adehesive and put them on top of the scotch-taped washers. Take the assembly to the car (may help to have another person...it took me about three tries) and place it on the car. When you make a determination that the position is correct (pretty easy because it fits up against the upswept part of the hatch) push down on the spoiler. When you remove the spoiler, the washers should remain in place. Then just drill a small pilot hole inside the washer, remove it, and then drill your final hole(s). I undercoated the bare metal and let it dry before I put on the spoiler. It actually took much longer for me to think this whole thing up compared to the actual mounting. Good luck.
