I would switch to Mobil 1 and use the 0W40 product. It will clean up some deposits. With 100K and the W40 oil you may notice that your engine runs smoother and quieter too.
If the piston rings are stuck, oil consumption can increase quite a bit. The M1 will help with that. I would also use a solvent type addative that claims to free up sticking rings and valves. Be careful to not get an STP thick type product. The product that you get should have a watery consistancy when you shake it. This will be a smaller can. 10 ounces perhaps. These are added to the oil and you leave it in for a few days or a week and then change the oil. So perhaps you can add this to the FakeTec(tm) oil and then drain it.
You can also use a solvent type engine flush, which is tyically a quart. You pour that in to a cold engine and let the engine idle till hot then shut down and drain. You will want to wait until things are cool enought to do safely as usual. You cannot put a load on the engine when that flush is in there. So you cannot add it then drive up ramps to do the change!
Do not extend oil changes until after a few changes of M1 0W40.
Make sure that your low oil pressure light is working when you turn on the ignition and before you start the engine. The oil pressure switches are all failing and yours could easily be bad now. There have been folks with sludge and low oil pressure who have lost their engines and the low oil light was never seen becuase the switch was bad... I think that all of these pressure switches fail.
