Well, you have to see it two ways. The price is to repl Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: What a steal, Anders!, Derek in Durham, Sat, 26 Jul 2003 07:58:47 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
the switch, not to fault trace and replace.
Fault tracing charges are very difficult to sell to a customer so most shops include them in the total price.
I'm hoping that by running a small shop and getting to know the customers on a first hand level will help me make them understand that some problems takes time and that fault tracing has to be charged as extra (when needed).
By using the very latest technology, I'm fairly sure to find the problems fast enough, not having to charge too much.
What can throw you for a loop though is the intermittent problems. If the problem is not present at the time, it's no way in he@#@% that you can find it, and you might need to be cruising around in the car for hours waiting for the hick up to happen and pray that you hooked the labscope up to the right wire when it happens.
The first encounters of faulty ignition switches took me some 10 hours to find, now I know what to look for and to go in there and check the part number on the switch, and what wire to look for voltage drop.
