3 days ago I replaced the rear V/C gasket, spark plugs (thanks to micheal p for help), and cleaned plug wires and the throttle body/IAC valve. Immediately after doing all of this the car sounded fine, but drove a little sluggish. Since then the power has gotten much better, but suddenly, I now have a loud tapping coming from the rear valve cover. Previously there was a small tapping sound coming from the front V/C that would go away after warming up. but this new sound is much louder and sounds like there are more than one lifter that is stuck, and gets louder above 2000rpm. Is this sound anyting that I should worry about? because the car seems to have much bigger gonads now, just a loud sound. The car has an oil change coming up and I'm thinking of using some system cleaner to free stuck rings, lifters, ect. Also, when I had the valve cover off, there was a lot of dried clumped oil sludge that I cleaned out of the corners and off of the cam-shaft mounts. is this normal?
thanks a lot
