Mark-
My SRS light has come on and been repaired by the dealer twice and the indy once. Never have they determined the cause. The indy reset the computer and the light came on after a month. The dealer put in a $14 light bulb in the dash the first time and replaced the battery the second time. I was told if the battery doesn't have enough ampage to properly crank then the SRS (which is overly sensitive) might deactivate itself. I drive a lot of short distances to and from work, not allowing the battery to recharge fully. Now, I have a reason for long drives on the Blue Ridge Parkway!
Anyway, I thought you might have the same problem. Look on the bright side if it is only electrical (battery or light bulb) and not actually the Airbag module (Quoted $750 + labor) then this is a relatively cheap fix.
Good luck.
