Well, I'm close to the limit of my limited expertise but Dean's tip about the excessive pressure reading seemed to be promising. Pinching the hoses to & from the heater core sounds clever, but did they then run the system with the coompressor running long enough to neutralize the residual heat in the core from the trapped hot water? The hot/air mix problem I experienced meant the flaps around the heater core were not moving at all. With the system on "ECON," do you get any measurable difference in outlet air temp when you go from "LO" to "HI"? If running on LO for while, then putting it on HI nets you a rush of hotter air, them my little motor is doing its job.
Good luck,
/Geoff
