Pull the plugs, read the deposits and check the gap. It can always be the plugs. Plugs might be fouled with everything that has gone on, so new plugs, gapped to .035" might be needed. NGK BPCR6ES11's.
Clean injectors with Techron Concentrate.
Check/clean the throttle body (TB). Check/clean the IAC. Check vac lines. Check alternator mounting and cables.
With low battery voltage things can go wrong and starting can be impossible.
Check the battery cells for electrolyte level and correct with distilled water if needed. If when charging all but one bubble and one does not, get a new battery as there is a shorted cell. Check that battery terminals are clean and tight. With these low voltages, your electronics might benefit from a battery disconnect for a while and booting backup on proper voltages. Having a battery charger is not a bad thing, even if you don't use it for 10 years. A place that sells batteries can check the battery and alternator chargine voltate and capacity, typically for free. If this 1997 vehicle has the original battery, just replace it!
You have work to do, or get to the dealer.
