Failing ignition switch is common on the NG 900. You're lucky that it is just the accessories right now. Typical failure is to have crazy idiot warning lights, SID chimes-of-death, and worst--the engine dying randomly while driving along and/or trouble starting.

I would guess that you'll experience engine trouble sooner or later, so I would strongly recommend replacing the switch now. The original switches were a poor design and the new switch is updated and improved. Many past posts on this in the archives, do a search.

You could always do the electronic rigging anyway when you have the floor and center consoles ripped apart to replace the switch.
