Though I do like my car (for all the inexplicable reasons Saab owners do love their cars). It has been nothing but trouble. I bought in 08/2000 at a little over 42,000 miles. Now at 76,000 and have had to replace the flexi-pipe in the exhaust, water pump and two hoses, fuel pump and filter(s), tensioner belt and two pulleys, fog light, radio antenna (sp?), alternator, distributor and a keyless remote. I know there is more but I can ID right now. There has not been a two month stretch where I have not had something "tragic" happen with this car. The ABS (Anti Lock Brake) light had been on for two years and the cause has yet to be identified, I broke down on the MA Pike (car died outright doing 80) and the cause can't be identified. Recently, I have had to drive around with my oil light on b/c I can't ID the cause (afraid to bring to anyone as I have yet found anyone respectable) and my SRS (safety restraint system) light on because it is "particularly sensitive" and "tends to do that" when anything goes wrong with your keyless entry. So, with that said, I would make sure you have a great idea of the maintenence record of your (future) car and make sure the car has had all the recommended levels of service, etc. If a Saab is not (and has not) been well maintained then it is a struggle to enjoy.
Good Luck
