Decided to switch to the colder NGK "7" plugs as an experiment now that I am running more boost with the Speedparts ECU and crossflow intercooler. Pulled the plugs this afternoon and found a set of "Bosch Super R6 291." My former indy mechanic - the one before I started taking it to Anders - must have put them in at the major service I had at 93k miles (and taken out the BCPR6ES's I put in last year). His shop is 90% Volvo work, so maybe he didn't stock the NGKs? I've always used the recommended NGK plugs, but the car has been running OK the last 5k miles with the Bosch plugs, no CEL, etc.
It could be my imagination, but it seems to be running a tad smoother with the NGK plugs, gapped to 0.035".
