On The Road Again! V6 VCG Problem Solved

I wrote a while back about having done the VCGs and had some oil leaking out of "somewhere?!??" in the back of the engine compartment but couldn't find a leak in the VCGs. I procrastinated for a while (nothing worse than doing a big job and having it not work in the end)and then ran the engine, and got a big dental mirror and stuck my head in there. It looked like oil was leaking from the bracket that connects the head to the air intake. I yanked the manifold and couldn't find any leak on the valve cover / head interface. I unbolted the small bracket off the engine even though I couldn't think of why it had anything to do with my problem. It wouldn't come off after both bolts were removed! Turns out there was a small cable tie/wire holder thingie on the bracket and part of the cable tie had been stuck under the valve cover when I installed it! The gasket and VC immediately compressed over the space once this was removed making a seal. I wasn't sure it was a good seal, but I cleaned the side surfaces up with alcohol, applied a thin amount of gasket seal and let it sit overnight. I put 100 miles on it yesterday and it seems to have held, no smoke, no oil!
So be carful of this little piece of plastic crap getting in your way if you do the V6 VCGs!!
Cheers,
Chris
