Important to go from the known to the unknown.

You do know that the pump is buzzing when cranking over, right?

You do have to make sure that gasolin is actually reaching the intake manifold and injectors using a pressure gauge or simply disconnecting a fuel line and do a short cranking over.
CAUTION!!! if a fuel line is open and engine is cranked over, the gasolin will spray out with force so great care and a bottle is needed to catch the gasolin. Fuel lines on the 4cyl engine is difficult to disconnect and require a special tool.

If that test is ok, you have to make sure you have 12V power to injectors on one of the wires when cranking over and a pulsing ground signal on the other wire. This is best achived with what's called a noid light that plugs right into the existing wire harness when disconnected from fuel injector. Look at the noid light when cranking to see if it's flashing.

If that test is ok, you need to focus on the ignition part and spark plugs.
Your turbo is a little bit cumbersome to test for spark since it have a DI cassette over all 4 plugs.
The one and only proper way is to remove all spark plugs and plug them into the cassette and attach a ground wire between ALL spark plugs and connect to proper ground.
CAUTION!!! make sure there is NO gasolin in the vincinity when doing this test since sparks are flying.

If no sparks it might be the DI cassette.

This whole procedure takes less than an hour for a Saab shop to perform and it might be a good idea to bring the car to them.

Sometimes it's not worth it to try to find the problem yourself but instead pay to have it diagnosed.

Good luck

Anders
