It might be as easy as a clutch cable that skipped a couple of adjustments?
Do you feel that you have more freeplay in the pedal before it starts to engage the clutch than before?
I'm surprised about how many customers that comes in complaining about hard shifting and when I test drive, the clutch pedal goes almost all the way to the floor before it even starts to declutch.
Try to give the clutch cable a tug through the left wheel well opening having the wheels turned to right. You may be able to get it to work again.
If the clutch pedal is hard to operate directly from the upper position, it might be a worn out clutch disc and a spring that have dislodged. I have seen that many times on the NG900 clutches.
