Hi all,

Nice to be here I, this is my first post!

Well we had a 88 900 for 14 years and felt it was getting on as it had some rust and 220,000km so we opted to but a newer Saab. I picked up a mint NG900se 2.5 v6, it had 108,000km on it, I paid 6600cdn, it was in mint condition, and fully loaded. The first thing I did was have it checked by my mechanic, he signed off on it (he is a Saab specialist). The first thing I did was have the timing belt changed, a complete tune up, and fix an engine mount all normal stuff at 108000km, I did a quick search and found some of the history on the car it all seemed to check out. Anyways I left the car with my mechanic for 3-4 weeks as we were selling my wife’s old car, so we told him to take his time. Then we got the car back drove it for three weeks and then went on vacation for 2 weeks so the car sat in our drive way. Got back drove the car all day and at 1 am in the morning coming home all hell broke lose.
Well the engine is now toast and I am suing the dealer that sold me the car, I did not have it 60 days and the engine is finished. My mechanic says that all the rods are busted, but he did not take the engine a part yet. Also it was full of oil, the first thing I did was check the oil it was full…
My questions are these...
Do these engines have a history of failing?
Where can I get a new, used, rebuilt engine?
There is a guy in California that is selling replacement Vauxhall engines, are they good?
Can I put in a 9-3 2l turbo engine, what will I have to change?
What other Saab engine can I put in and what would I have to change.

Any info will be a help, as I am at a lost for words, my wife hates me! Joking but she is not happy! And I do not know what to do!

Thanks
Ron
