I have E-Code headlights and Silverstar bulbs. The bulbs are well over six months old now, and they're still working fine. I do have the DRLs turned off, though, which is probably a good idea for anyone running expensive bulbs. Personally, I thought that the Silverstars made more of a difference in the light output than the E-Code headlights did, but there is a noticeable improvement. The first thing I noticed was the sharp horizontal cutoff and the big kink in the beams, which is there to prevent you from blinding oncoming drivers. Since you can buy just the E-code lenses from Taliaferro Saab for a reasonable price, I'd say go for the lenses and the bulbs.
