As an afterthought... would a dying fuel pump act intermittently this many times? The more I read in the archives, the less I am inclined to think that's the problem. The car dies altogether... it never stumbles or stutters when trying to restart. Woudn't a dead pump = low fuel pressure for a brief moment, so the car might cough to a stop and then sputter when trying to restart with the low (but not depleted) pressure? This car also only has 80K miles on it, and I am not sure it's ever even been run out of gas.
I think Vlad might be on the right track with an ignition switch diagnosis, but the dash lights are acting normal. Does a bad ignition switch usually cause issues with the dash lights?
Again, sincere thanks for any and all advice!
Chris
