VAC leaks have the larger impact at high manifold vacuums and lower air flow rates. Can you spell idle? When the engine is cold, enrichment will mask some of the lean running at idle. So worse when warmed up?
One method to find a VAC leak when idle is bad, is to warm up the engine, then out of doors, attach a hose to a propane torch and with a small flow of propane, allow the gas to flow over potential vac leak sites. When you hit the vac leak, the idle should improve as the lean mixture changes to richer. Some caution is advised.
And check cables and boots. Do they need to be cleaned. Any oil leaking from valve covers and running into spark plug wells and messing up the plugs?
