Could I just have a bad battery?

In my previous post, I said that it looks like I have a bad neutral safety switch. This is in a '97 900SET. Symptoms are starting in the morning with check engine and check gearbox lights, and running in limp mode.
Three more clues now:
1. Cycling the gear selector doesn't seem to help, as several people reported temporarily fixing the problem
2. It's getting worse every day. The first time it was cleared by letting it warm up and re-starting. It's gotten worse every day for 5 days now. I wound up warming it up at idle and driving ~10 miles before I could re-start and get it out of limp mode - even then the lights stayed on for a 30 minute drive to work, and were still on when I went out to lunch. They cleared next start.
3. New - my radio turns itself off. I usually leave the radio on, and when I get in the car and start it, it comes back on. Last 2 mornings starting, the radio didn't come on.
As far as I know there's no connection between the radio and computers, right? So maybe this is just an undervoltage problem?
I went to Autozone and had them check the codes - none were stored. Clean. And I had them check the battery, and they said it was fine. I don't know how much I believe that test, though.
Battery cables look good. The car always starts, turns over fine.
Could this still be just a battery?
