Either leak is not going to affect the clutch at all.
You can tell what oil by the smell.
All 1994-->1996 production has bad engine rear crank seals and they will all leak. Mine showed slight seepage early in life a got quite bad after 100K. Vehicles with lower miles but more age may get there at lower miles. Most of the seal aging is probably heat+time, not so much in miles.
I suspect that the replacement seal was intro'd in 1997, but I don't know for certain.
