As long as you throughly flush the cooling system. For example Prestone Low Tox anti-freeze recommends throughly flushing the cooling system befor use.
On the NG900 Saabs it is s bit tricky to get the system really clean without removing the thermostat, which is a bit time consuming. When I changed coolant types (to Mercedes G05 coolant) I drained the cooling system using the bottom radiator hose; refilled with distilled water (could use tap water but distilled water has no minerals so will have no possible chemical reation/particulates); ran the engine until the thermostat opened; let cool; drained and refilled with distilled water again; ran engine and let cool; refilled with 5 quarts of coolant and topped off with distilled water; ran engine and let cool, topped off again with distilled water.
A long process, but I am sure that the system was cleared of the old coolant and that the new coolant is the right mixture strength.
