It is a better oil and your engine may run quieter and smoother as well.
The oil is thicker at running temps and would reduce seepage at running temps. It is a bit thinner when cold, so no advantage there. But when these oils are cold they are very much thicker than when hot.
I would not expect to see any difference leak wise.
Might be a good idea to re-torque the head.
Leaking at the valve cover? Retighten the VC #40 mushroom head bolts. There are plenty under the cover for the spark plugs, or the DI on the turbo models. The hard pipe for the PCV needs to be released and pushed out of the way at the timing chain end to get the bolts there, easy enough. These screws can get loose as the VC gasket settles.
