V6 Check Gearbox Help

Hi there, I've got a problem that sounds similar to the problem that a lot of V6'ers have in cold weather, but my symptoms seem to be a little different. Here's a little backstory: The car is a 94 900SE V6 with 136k on the ticker. The tranmission has been rebuilt once (don't know the specifics, as it was my parent's car then. I bet they wouldn't be happy if they had it rebuilt and it turned out to be a Neutral Saftey Switch or some such thing), all I remember about the rebuild was that it happened around 100k, and the tranny oil was quite burned when they drained it. I also remember that the dumb transmission repair people (not a saab shop) put the wrong part on the top of the transmission that links the shifter to the transmission (so it slipped off, leaving the car in park). Anyways, the problem is this: Lately, withen the past two months and it seems to be in cooler weather (up here in Maine), I have been getting a check gearbox light after driving for a short distance (less than 5 miles) and the light only comes on when I put the car back into park (then is in limp mode until I restart it). It usually happens after the car has sat for the night, not always though. And it does seem to be only for short trips (like going from my campus to 7-11). I haven't read any posts saying that the light has come on only after putting the car into park. Any ideas? Should I ignore it? (It happens infrequently, and restarting it corrects the problme). Oh, and yes, I've checked the gearbox fluid :p.
Thanks so much,
-Chris
