1996 900se turbo, 115K
Couple months ago, check engine light came on, took to dealer charged me $80 to tell me the front Osensor was eratic and needed replacement. Got one of the internet and replaced it myself. Light went off for a few days but then came back on. This time took it to a local mechanic, did a free diagnostic and told me could be bad spark plugs, the back Osensor was bad and the DI cassette was misfiring. So i put new spark plugs and new back Osensor. Light went off, but after few days came back on. Took it back to mechanic did a check again and told me front osensor was bad and no misfiring read. So i changed the front osensor again (bosch this time). Light went off but after few days came back on.
This time took it to Autozone did a diagnostic, and gave me these codes P1171 air metering, P0171 system-too lean blank 1, P1416 auxilary emission control.
The car drives fine in high speeds, but sometime when idle runs a bid rough. I notice the fuel comsumption is down to 17-18 miles or so, it used to read 20 miles.
Can anybody help please. Does DI cassette really need replacing??
Any info. greatly appreciated.
