I recall the OEM mounts and bearings to be $105 and $33 each, respectively at the dealer. That’s $280 right off the bat. There are some washers too. Throw the OEM struts into the mix and you can get up to something like $800 parts and labor very easily. DIY and KYB all around (struts mounts and bearings) would cost less than $250. BUT too many people are dissing KYB. Like Dean and others have pointed out in the past: how long do you want to keep the car? Maybe something like the following makes sense: >2 years - go OEM; <2 - go KYB...maybe. Not sure what the value of the subject car is, but putting $800 into the front end can be a real crap shoot as these cars ain't worth much and they can hit you with astronomical repairs on any given day (engine, AC, shift linkage, clutch annoyances, etc.). I have become a firm believer that these cars are not worth owning unless you are a DIYer – just my experience. Some people pay $50 an hour at an indy - that is awesome. And some have found reliability. Here in Westchester County, NY the Toyota dealer charges $100 per hour. Don't know what the Saab dealer charges cuz I don't go in there. :) Rant rant. I do love my 95 900 SET.
