OK - Bear with me (and see if my logic is true). If you go to the Stant web site and search for the gas cap for a 95 900s 2.3L, you get 10826. If you look at 96 and above, it shows 10834 (I think). Anyway, if you go to the SAAB-ENGINE-PARTS web site and go down the same search pattern, you see 2 caps for the 95 900s - one for body numbers up to a certain number, and another for body numbers above that. If you blow up the pictures, the later body numbers is a cap that says "vacuum only". The one for the earlier body numbers has no such wording. That's the 10826. I ordered that for my early-year 95 (still has OBD I). Before I installed it, I did the "suck test". If you blow into the gas cap (like you were a gas tank), you can feel that there's no venting. But if you suck air in, you can feel the air flow thru the vent, thus allowing pressure equalization in the tank.
So - early 95 with obd I is the 10826 with vent, later 95 with obd II is the other cap. If it doesn't say "vacuum only", you have the vented cap.
still clear as mud, though... :-)
