It might be a octane issue. You have a 10.7 compression ratio. Using premium?
If the engine is avoiding knocking and killing the spark timing, the following might help. Clean the plugs and combustion chambers with a 20 ounce bottle of Techron Concentrate. This will take care of a poor spray pattern from fouled plugs, and remove some of the combustion chamber deposits which form hot spots. Those increase the octane demand of the engine and is called 'acquired octane demand'.
Cleaning the injectors will improve starting and low throttle cold engine response.
If the above does not help, change the fuel filter if its near time for that. Might be fuel starved at higher power levels. When on throttle, the voltage required to jump the spark gaps increases. This might affect a coil that is breaking down. Thats expensive and your last resort.
