which can be seen exterior of transmission.

Well the grinding spindling sound of my throwout bearing finally resulted in catastrophy. I was hoping to drive on it for awhile until I can save enough money to fix it.. It came too soon. While driving, shifting became more difficult until finally the clutch was useless. However I was able to push the shifter in (to 1st) far enough to get some resistance (without use of the clutch) building up speed until the shifter finally went into first gear. Fortunatly I only had to nurse my 900SE about a mile in 1st to get it home. I've never driven a manual trany car without using the clutch pedal before.

So now there's metal shavings exterior of the trany mixed in what appears to be coolant. When the throwout bearing finally gave way, a loud clunking sound could be heard. The question is, what else has been damged in the process. The dealer wants $1200 to do a clutch job. $1200? How can they get away with this? I found a local Saab specialist who will do it for $500! Thats right $500.. -just don't have the money. Replaced the turbo end of the summer. To date, $4600 in the past 2 years. Yesterday was the 3rd anniversary of the purchase of the car. I still owe another 2 years on the car plus insurance.. and its just sitting in my driveway useless as can be.

So I took the bus today for the first time and had to wait in the freezing rain for it, plus walk another 1/4 mile to get home.. I miss driving already...
