After searching the board, I concluded that my instrument cluster was banging against the metal frame pieces behind the dash, and the steering collumn. Here is some advice for others that try to fix this common rattle. I have to run soon, so this will be kinda brief. Just glad I can give back just a little to you folks!
Basically, you take off the dash face, and pull out the instrument cluster. I glued some foam weather stripping to the metal frame members behind the cluster. Probably a quick fix, but 2 months since I did this, and still no rattle.
There are a lot of screws to remove, and some are concealed behind the dash face plate. If the dash face seems stuck, it means you probably missed a screw. I removed all switches, radio and SID. Be sure you have your radio code handy. I used a coat hanger instead of buying a radio tool. I also loosened the fuse box. Take your time, and be sure to get all the screws. Sorry, I didn't write down how many.
The most difficult part was the vents. Don't try to disconnect the black plastic vent tubes at the dash face. You will end up with a handful of loose plastic, which are the rectangular vent opening things - PIA to put back together. Instead, the vent tubes can be fairly easily pulled apart almost like vacuum cleaner attachments - kind of a male-female thing. You should end up with about 2-3 inches of vent tube still attached to the dash face, and open vent tubes still in the dash.
I lost the fasten seat belt window thingy, so i disconnected the light behind it, and now I have a hole there.
Took maybe 5 hours, but I'm a rookie. Can't imagine what a dealer would have charged for this!
Thanks everyone!
