More steering problems

I have been having a lot of steering issues with my 94 900s lately. First, it was making a grinding noise whenever I would turn the wheel and the steering was very loose. I recently had the strut mounts replaced (for the second time this year), and I had new control arms put on. The grinding noise went away, but the loose steering is still there. Whenever I hit a bump or rut in the road, the wheel will pretty much turn itself. It's not quite as bad as it was before I had those things replaced, but it's still really annoying. There is also now a clunking noise in the front that can be heard when I go over a dip or something like that. I know it needs aligned, but do what could the problem still be? Do I need completely new struts? Are the new control arms putting stress on something else?
Thanks.
