Should I keep this car? Engine Oil Problems

I am hoping for some insight on whether I should continue to put money in this car...
I have a 97 900s (97k) that seemed problem-free until my wife had a front-end wreck and it has since become a nightmare. I had an oil-leak that was diagnosed by an indy shop as the head-gasktet. I had the head-gasket replaced. This was followed by front-end vibration at around 70mph. For this the shop replaced left and right inner-drives and axles. This did not fix the problem and the shop said that there is nothing left to replace. Next came stalling and starting problems, and I had to replace the fuel pump.
Now the car will often threaten to stall during breaking after it has been on the road for a while. When this happens the oil light comes on. I have checked the oil level and it seems ok but I have seen more of the brown cream that I was finding before the head-gasket was done. The car also has trouble starting whe it has been running for a while and then sits for 20 or so minutes. Is this sludgy engine going to eat what little bit of savings I have left? Should I give up? Any insights greatly appreciated.
