Hi Pete,
A bit odd for me to explain in English,but here we go ;
Open upp the bonnet and look into the upper left corner of the engine dep.You should find a medium thich rubber hoose comming from the far left corner and attached to a vacuum valve .This valve has a electrical connector and one inlet and one outlet rubber hoose. The outlet hoose leaving the valve goes into the throttle body. In this way the coal canister (hidden in the wheelhouse!) will be emptied every time the car is up to temperature and one hits the accelerator. The actuation of this valve is by short "ticking" electrical pulses to the valve. If the valve (as in my car) is attached direct to the body this sound can easily be heard from inside the car as fast ticking when accelerating. I used a Tie-Rap and re-fastend the valve with a piece of spronge in-between. All is now working as before - but at least no sound can be heard into the cabin !
Maybee someone else can give a more spot on description in clear language ;)
BR, Carl.
