Hi, just wondering if anyone has had trouble with their ignition. When I turn the key past ON to start and let it flick back to ON, it slips past and to OFF and the car dies. At first I thought it a fuel pump, but with a bunch of starts figured out it is the ignition slipping. Does anyone know what would need to be replaced? It almost seems as though there is a stop that has been worn away. I can get the key to stay in the ON position by coaxing it a bit, not letting it snap back to ON, but gently returning it to ON after the engine turns over. But still, if the key is bumped while driving, it will shut the car off. (bad time for center console ignition, I guess)
Anyway, any help with this would be great. By the way, I already tried replacing the lock cylinder that the key fits in and you can slide right out after depressing a catch on the side and putting the key in and turning about 1/2 a turn. no dice.
