Anders,
Saw your post below and had some input. I had a manual-adjust scantech cable in my 95 900 for about 1 year. It was crap. The spring adjustment seems to be important to take up the slack in the cable as the temperatures change on the rubber stoppers on both ends. I adjusted it about 100 times and I could never get it to work in all temps. When it would get really hot, I could not compress the clutch enough to disengage.
In cold weather the friction point was at the top of the pedal, as it warmed up, it would get progressively closer to the floor. It was ok most of the time, but in hot summer weather I could never get it adjusted right.
I went back to OE Saab self-adjusting. I just grab it and pull out the racheting mechanism about every 2 months.
