I hit a snag this morning when I called two U-Haul places in VA. One is not open on Saturday, and the other currently had no auto-transports to rent. They might have one by Saturday, but it would be a bust of a trip to get down there to find out we couldn't rent one(no guarantee they'd have one). U-Haul is first come first serve, even if you pay in advance and reserve one. Stupid company policy that has bit me once already with my past dealings with them.

So...I called my father after I got off the phone with U-Haul. He's going to rent one local to him(not U-Haul), and we'll take a trailer with us. More gas to haul one there, but at least we'll be assured of getting it home this weekend. I'll be driving to his house on Friday night, then we will head to VA early in the morning on Saturday. Yahoo maps says 400 miles and 6 hours, so it's quite possible for us to be there before they close. I'll swipe the ole lady's cell phone, so I'll call you Jim when we are near.

I have no immediate plans for the car, but I was thinking > partial resto(get it running and painted, replace a few needed parts) and sell to a buddy who's been looking for one for three years....or, complete resto and keep it, since it wouldn't pay to sell it.

Since I sold my 75EMS for $10,600 last year, no 99 has sold for more than a few thousand dollars. I don't think the market will support another high priced 99 for a few years to come.

I'll be sure to keep everyone posted.
