WASSAAB Club Meeting Minutes

Pat Quinlan arrived after rushing to get his brakes fixed on his Sonnet a bit late, but we still had the opportunity to oogle his very cool sports car!

Club incorporation:
In progress, albeit a slow process. A 501.c.11 (associations?)or c.7 (clubs) needs to be filed with the local state government, an ad placed notifying the public of our request for incorporation and to register our logo and club name. This process should be started (hopefully) before the next meeting.

600 copies of brochures have been printed and each attending member took a stack to distribute when and where they can to Saabs windshields and Saab owners wherever and whenever they can. Thank you Randy Rude for taking this on. Randy managed to find a printer willing to do this at minimal cost.
Dyno Day: Date and location suggestions. It looks like August 21 (for now) is the date we’re aiming for: Right after SOC, and at a tuning shop in Fredrick, Md. (Alex, forgive me, I don’t recall the name of the place…). More details to follow.

News Letter:
New Member Frank Humm has been kind enought to volunteer to help coordinate a newsletter for the club. I owe him a "president's corner" message, and I've got a couple of idea's for articles. I'm looking to you all to help contribute. If you have ideas or would like to read about something Saab related, let us know.
Saabarbeque
For those who may not be aware, we’re doing a joint barbeque with S&S Auto in Warrenton, Va on June 25th. S&S has volunteered to foot the bill. Thank you VERY much Rick and Margie Stanley!
I’ve met with Marge and Rick Stanley today and they have given me a check of $300 to go pick up the hamburgers and hotdogs with. I figured about 50 people. Marge will pick up the condiments, buns, paper plates, plastic forks, etc., and soda’s, while I’ll get my EZ UP tent, some folding tables and a few chairs.
Alex volunteered a trailer/grill, and Peyton a pickup to tow it with. If there’s any way we can get it to S&S on Friday, June 24…?
Grill time starts around 10 am and will run until 2 or the food runs out, whichever comes first.
SOC '05: August 11th to the 14th! If you can be there, cool! LOTS of Saabs should be there. I had the opportunity to go to the '03 SOC and had a blast. Over 300 Saabs came to Hershey. We're looking to do the same in Vermont. Check out saabconvention "dot" org for details.
Fun Run: Rather than jam every event up against each other, we’re looking to do the fun run in late September or early October – accommodate both vacation and school schedules as best as we can. Firm dates to follow.
Business closed around 5:30 officiall, although Mr. Quinlan arrived shortly after that :-), in time to recap for him. BTW, Pat, congrats on being voted to be club secretary.
Next first-Sunday is July 3rd -- a holiday weekend. Do we want to postpone until the next Sunday? Or shall we continue with that date? This time it should be in Maryland. Place TBD. Let me know if the 3rd works for everyone.
