Jim, I was very involved with the Colorado convention and are close with Tom Nelson and Bruce Harbison of the Rocky Mountain Club. That event did consume the larger portion of a year to plan and pull off and easily took 100 hours from each of the 20 core SOC commitee. The last month befor the event, many of the key core team worked 30 hours a week. I agree with your economic assessments and the need for a strong and organized club, and per my above comments, a club that will be sorely tested and worked HARD. Site selection will be Key to making it work economically. Incidentially the Colorado club did make over 10K in club proffits, and still have a positive balance today.
