for the under-rated reimbursement for factory warranty work. Warranty "estimates" are set by the factory, so if it takes three hours to do what they consider should be a one-hour job, regardless of what unforseen complication arrises during the work, they get paid that flat rate from the factory. So dealers are often stuck between a rock and a hard place and generally have higher labor rates.
Not to imply they're starving, they obviously are doing okay, but an independent will always have lower rates. And most, including Viking, are top notch Saab-trained technicians.
