And you thought we had nothing planned....
Saab Owner's Convention 2007 is coming next Month to be held in Troy, Michigan -- suburb of Detroit. GM is sponsoring the event, so I trust it'll be a great one! Unfortunately it's in conflict with my schedule so I doubt I can make it (trying desperately to finagle a business trip around it, but it's not looking good for me ;_(
Look for details on the SOC BB here in Saabnet, and also at http://www.saabconvention.org/default.html
Classics on the James, formerly "British Car Days", on Brown's Island, Richmond Virginia is coming up in September -- I just got the mailer this week. For those unfamiliar, this is both a road rally and car show. I usually go for the car show, but a drive is always fun! That's what it's all about, right?
The featured Marque this year is Ferrari, however all European marques are welcome. Pre-show events are Saturday, the 15th while the show is on Sunday, the 16th. Jeff Williams, Frank Hum, Pat Quinlan now of Boston and I have gone the past two years and had a great time. Lovely show field on an island in the James River in downtown Richmond. Enjoy the wonderful Southern Hospitality and great vintage European rides!
Preregistration only if you want to show your car and the deadline for registration is August 15th. Details and on-line registration can be found at http://www.classics on the james.com.
I'm open to suggestions for events beyond September. I've heard interest in another Dyno-Day and perhaps a Fall Fun Run.
Let me know what you all would like to do, and we can make it happen!
Jim Miller, WASSAAB
