English is not my mother language so maybe I understand the problem completely wrong, but I guess you mean the noise that occurs when the wipers move in the outward stroke. If this is not what you mean then please disregard the rest of this story...
Wiper chatter starts when the wiper blade stands on the window at such an angle that at either the outward or inward stroke the blade does not bend back. Most of the time this happens during the outward stroke; this is because when the wiper is in the rest position the blade is still in the inward stroke position. When the blade ages it becomes less flexible and may end up being a bit curled. It curles in such a way that when the wiper arm is in the outward stroke the end of the wiper blade is pushed over the windscreed instead of being pulled. This is when the annoying noises start. You may be able to cure it by twisting the wiper arms in such a way that the angle between the window and the blade is 90º. This way the blade should be able to flex around when it goes from the inward stroke to the outward stroke. I just hope for you that 9000 wiper arms are of such a design that you can flex them.
In practice carrying out the remedy is much easier than describing it in such a way tht it makes sense :).
Good luck,
Alex
