I have heard so many varying opinions about microfibre towels, so I thought I would post what I know to be the truth. I have many friends in the paint business and they all seem to concur that there seems to be one Korean company that makes the best. They are marketed under the Viper name and under Norton.
You can look at nortonabrasives dot com web site for information in the Adobe catalogue. Now who makes the best wax is another question. Zymol is on paper the best but any car built in the 80's can use any wax you wish from any upscale wax supplier. Names that you should look for are; 3M, Meguiars, The Wax Shop, Mothers, etc... Carnuba is the ingrediant that you want in a wax. Some of todays car have a Flourine clearcoat "no wax"and any wax you use should be Flourine safe so as not to damage it. The waxs that can be purchased at the dealership will always be correct. When in doubt always contact a reputable paint shop and ask questions. The Chilton book company published a book "Auto Detailing The Professional Way"
ISBN 0801981964 Chilton Part # 8394. This is the best book on auto detailing. I do not think it has been updated since 1995 but I just checked at the local parts store (Oreilly's) and they have 33 copies here in Houston. I have a 1988 SPG that looks new and is always outside along with my other cars. I think that I take care of my investments and use Meguiars # 26 wax after claying the car. I do this about once a year. I have used Liquid Glass, Klasse, P21S, Zymol (SAAB), 3M, too name but a few. Liquid Glass, Klasse did not last very long but they were excellent when it came to depth and shine. Since Meguiars offers so many different products I have stayed loyal too them. The Medallion line is superb. I hope that this was of some help.
