Jeff, I can give you my own opinion on the turtle wax for black cars along with the chip stick that comes attached.
I used it on a black GTI, the wax was awsome and after the first application the finish colour came back to life so rich I couldn't believe the results. The car generated too much attention after the detailing job, and I never had to redo the job for another 2 years after which I sold the car. As to the chip stick that came with the wax bottle, I did have a chance to use it on my girlfriend's pontiac sunfire. In short, I wasn't happy with the results although I did everything in my power to let it settle and dry. The color simply didn't match but truly it is better than exposed metal. Were I you, I'd buy a bottle of matching paint from the dealership and carefully fill the gaps.
Since My 97' 900 SE is beige I switched to Meguiars Gold Class which based on their estimate is the best they've ever came up with and it works on both clear coat and non-clear-coast as well.
Hope that helps.
